Pastor Glenn E. Taylor Sr.
Sr. Pastor & Founder
As a member of Reno community since January of 1970, Rev Glenn E. Taylor, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the Greater Light Christian Center in Reno, Nevada, Rev. Taylor is known nationally and internationally for his inspirational preaching and musical talents.
Rev Taylor has ministered internationally in Australia, Indonesia, and Jamaica. His multi-cultural ministry has allowed him to establish five additional churches, four of which have Spanish speaking services, in the Reno-Stead Area and one in Covelo, California, addressing the local Native American community.
Rev. Taylor is the Founder/CEO of the African-American Community Cultural Education Program and Training (ACCEPT), addressing HIV/Aids prevention, Substance Abuse and Family Enhancement Programs. During his career of 29 years with the State of
Nevada and the City of Reno, Rev. Taylor was known as “Daniel in the Kings Palace.” Rev. Taylor has served several Nevada Governors and three Reno City Managers in such capacities as the Mediator –Conciliator, Arbitrator for the Nevada Labor Commission, Assistant Director of the Nevada Equal Rights Commission , and the Affirmative Action Officer/Training and Development Manager for the City of Reno.
Locally, Rev. Taylor has served in his Reno City Council appointed position as a Commissioner for the Reno Housing Authority, Trustee of the Washoe Affordable Housing Board and Trustee of the Washoe Housing Corporation, nationally; Rev. Taylor serves on the board of Directors for the National Alliance of Faith Based and Community Based Organization. Rev Taylor and the love of his life Gwen, have been married for 53 years. He is the proud father of three adult children and the grandfather of six grandchildren. The names of his children and grandchildren are Glenn II, (James, Shalani, Glenn III), Terrell Lamar (Trevor, Travis and Trenton) and Sherria Donae Taylor.

Gwen Taylor has been involved in Christian Ministry since she was 15 years of age. She began serving alongside her husband, Rev. Glenn E. Taylor Sr., after their 1967 wedding day. As an insightful speaker, she draws heavily from her education and background in sociology and marketing communication. A wise-spoken women, Co-Pastor Taylor, as she is affectionately and exuberantly referred to by Greater Light Christian Center Ministries, possesses the rare ability to reach and stir her audiences as she works to compliment her husband’s ministry.
In addition to raising two sons and one daughter, she has assumed an active role at Greater Light Christian Center Ministries, in Reno, NV. Where her husband serves as Senior Pastor, Co-Pastor Taylor also serves as Director of the church’s Women’s Ministry. Mrs. Taylor also speaks for women’s organizations on issues concerning marriage, family and women’s issues with an emphasis on depression.
In 1999, Mrs. Taylor traveled to the holy land, Israel, and had the opportunity to witness too many of and experience a humbling moment by being in the homeland of Jesus.
She currently serves as Executive Director/Program Coordinator and a public spokesperson for African-American Community Cultural Education Programs & Training (ACCEPT) a program that addresses the critical issues of HIV/AIDS. She speaks at schools and community venues on HIV/AIDS Prevention and oversees a weekly HIV Positive Support Group. Accept also provides alcohol and drug prevention programs for youth and adults throughout the community.
With echoes of her husband’s preaching style, Mrs. Taylor boldly challenges women to serve as blessings to their husbands and families. Greater Light Christian Center Ministry family attributes Mrs. Taylor’s wisdom and leadership to the emphasis she places one close, personal relationship with God.
After 53 years of marriage, the Taylor’s reside in Reno. They have three beautiful adult children: Glenn Taylor II, Terrell Taylor, and Sherria Taylor and six grandchildren.
